Texas trending with multiple blue-chippers as decisions quickly approach

Texas hosted its final official visit weekend of June, which included multiple blue-chippers and top targets on the board for the 2026 class.

Five-star EDGE Richie Wesley capped his visit to Austin with a commitment to the Longhorns. Longtime Texas verbal Chris Stewart followed suit by shutting down his recruitment.

Here is more recruiting intel and predictions from the official visit weekend in Austin:

FOUR-STAR SAFETY CHACE CALICUT

Texas soared to the top with top-100 safety target Chace Calicut this spring and remains the team to beat with the in-state blue-chipper as a June 27 commitment looms.

Calicut has logged official visits to Ole Miss, Georgia, Michigan and Texas — and this decision is coming down to the Dawgs and Longhorns. My FutureCast has been on Texas since midway through the spring — and coming out of Calicut’s official visit back to the Forty, my confidence is sky-high with Texas here.

FOUR-STAR LINEBACKER KOSI OKPALA

Kosi Okpala has wrapped up five official visits and returned back to Austin last. The four-star in-state linebacker target has been on campus at the Forty multiple times this off-season and the Longhorns hold a massive advantage with familiarity with this staff and this program compared to other contenders still standing.

“This program will compete for lot of national championships,” Okpala told Rivals after logging his visit to Texas last weekend.

My FutureCast is sitting on Texas with Okpala, who should have a commitment in place before long.

FOUR-STAR DL KENDALL GUERVIL

Kendall Guervil is scheduled to come off the board on July 2 and the Longhorns are trending up in a big way in this recruitment.

Kenny Baker and the Horns have added depth in the trenches lately with the additions of blue-chip DL Vodney Cleveland and EDGE Richie Wesley. Texas is also in the driver’s seat with Guervil, who has been leaning toward the Longhorns for chunks of the spring.

After officially visiting this weekend, there is even more confidence in Texas in this one.

FOUR-STAR LINEBACKER CALVIN THOMAS

The Longhorns have come on strong with in-state target Calvin Thomas after multiple visits up to the Forty Acres this spring. After returning to Texas, there is even more confidence about his chances of landing in Austin.

North Carolina, Michigan, Texas, and Texas A&M all hosted the four-star LB for official visits this summer. We have heard the Longhorns left the biggest impression on Thomas as a decision quickly nears.
