One of the Top linebackers in the country announced his decision on Sunday when Gainesville, Georgia star Xavier Griffin announced his commitment to Alabama.
The 6-3, 205-pound Griffin selected the Tide over the Longhorns. There was a time when it looked like the Longhorns might be the favorite to land the nation’s No.76 player in the latest Rivals recruiting rankings, but the shine off his official visit to Texas wore off and by the time he announced this weekend, it was pretty clear that the Longhorns were sitting in the bridesmaid position.
“What stood out to me about Alabama was the brotherhood that the players and the recruits have,” Griffin told Rivals, com. “It was unmatched for me. I felt like I was already part of the team when I was there. I didn’t feel like I was on a recruiting visit. The recruits, the ones that were already committed and already there, made us feel at home. There were some people I didn’t know when I went there and I left feeling like I had known them for a while.”
