Just a Bit Outside: Ohio State has been focusing on Texas this summer

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day took the stage at the Big Ten Media Days on Tuesday as the head coach of the defending national champions - but you won’t hear that from him. “We’re not defending anything,” Day told the press assembled at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He said the leaders on this year’s team met with him two weeks after the national championship game and asked him to take down all of the banners in the building because they wanted to turn the corner and begin work on the 2025 season. “They want to leave their own legacy behind,” said Day. “Quite honestly, they're so competitive. They're tired of hearing about last year's team, even though some of them were on last year's team. They’re like, we've lost all these guys. They're seeing it as a people counting them out. And I think they're excited to get going with this August camp. It's an important camp for us because of the first game.” That first game - against Texas - has their attention.
