- OFFENSIVE LINE TURMOIL – Austin Siereveld working exclusively at left tackle
- Ohio State offensive lineman Austin Siereveld was a starting guard and a backup guard at different points last season. This spring, he began taking reps at right tackle and showed he might be able to play that position at a high level.
- After entering training camp less than two weeks ago as a penciled-in starting right tackle, Siereveld has made another switch. He’s now repping exclusively at left tackle, taking an offensive line starting lineup that looked set at one point and flipping it into battles across the rest of the line.
- “We haven’t decided any positions,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said Monday.
- “We usually don’t set the depth chart really until a couple weeks out. So we’ll wait until then to actually set the depth chart.
- “But right now, Austin’s working exclusively left tackle.”

- That move puts Rice transfer Ethan Onianwa, the once-projected starter at left tackle, in a battle with Minnesota transfer Phillip Daniels for the vacant right tackle job. Onianwa repped almost exclusively at left tackle during spring periods that were open to the media, but he is now working as a swing offensive lineman, going between right tackle and the guard spots two weeks into camp.
- Daniels has emerged as a threat to start at right tackle thanks to an impressive two weeks to begin training camp, according to Lettermen Row.

- SCRIMMAGE – Florida coach Billy Napier met with the media on Monday following his team’s 10th practice in training camp. It was also his first time speaking since the Gators held their scrimmage in The Swamp on Saturday.
- “In terms of the scrimmage, you know, status quo. When you’re pleased with one side, you’re not pleased with the other. Pretty back and forth,” Napier said. “For the most part, came out of it pretty healthy. Just your typical bangs and bruises.”
Napier confirmed that sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway did not play in the scrimmageWith Lagway, freshman Tramell Jones Jr. got more reps at quarterback and Napier said he did a nice job in the scrimmage. - The standout players on offense were sophomore running back Jadan Baugh, who scored a touchdown run of 40-plus yards, and wide receiver Vernell Brown III, who played with the starting offense and caught a TD pass during the two-minute drill.
- On the other side of the ball, multipe sources told Gators Online that sophomore linebacker Aaron Chiles was Florida’s defensive MVP on Saturday. He got the start at LB and logged a sack, a forced fumble and a quarterback hurry. Napier had high praise for Chiles on Monday.

- SCRIMMAGE – Notes from this past weekend
- Jacob Sexton was the only name mentioned when asked about injuries from the scrimmage. Sounds like it could be a concussion for the starting left tackle.
- It was a turnover-free scrimmage from quarterback John Mateer and the first-team offense. Mateer hit on a few big plays, including a slant to Isaiah Sategna, who broke free for a long play.
- At tackle, Sexton started the scrimmage at left, while Luke Baklenko and Logan Howland split time at right tackle. Michael Fasusi also got some time with the first team at left tackle.
- The offense was able to move the ball early in the scrimmage, but the defense slowed them down in the second half.
- One last note not related to the scrimmage: Receiver Javonnie Gibson and running back Xavier Robinson have been cleared to start running. And running back Taylor Tatum is expected back at practice sometime this week.
