Texas defensive tackle commitment Corey Wells will take a visit to Auburn this weekend, joining his brother Chris, a South Alabama commitment. Wells confirmed the visit with OB via text, but said he’s more going just to accompany his brother than anything. He also reiterated that he’ll be visiting Texas this fall, but he’s still working to lock in a date.
Wells committed to Texas in June, shortly after completing his UT official visit. He did take a midweek official visit to Auburn, in addition to an official visit to Ole Miss.
We’ll watch this one closely because you would think if Auburn is able to flip his brother, there might be some added pressure on Corey to join him at Auburn. Wells told Rivals.com’s Chad Simmons this week that schools like Auburn, Texas Tech, Ole Miss and Mississippi State continue to recruit him. He tells OB he’s solid with his commitment to Texas, but it’s definitely a situation worth monitoring.
