2026 Texas Longhorns Baseball team celebrating at Disch-Falk Field, highlighting SEC matchups, key rivals, and the road to Omaha

The University of Texas Longhorns have officially released their 2026 baseball schedule, featuring exciting SEC matchups, key rivalries, and a challenging road to Omaha. Fans can look forward to home games against new teams at Disch-Falk Field, away series against top SEC opponents, and non-conference battles that will test the Horns’ championship ambitions.

The 2026 Texas Baseball schedule includes 54 games, with 34 home games at Disch-Falk Field, 17 away games, and 3 games on a neutral field. The Longhorns will face 27 unique teams, 10 of which made the NCAA Tournament, 4 of which made the Super Regionals, and one which made the College World Series. Against those 13 teams, the Longhorns had a record of 18 wins and 6 losses, though three of those losses came against the Roadrunners of UTSA. From a historical RPI perspective, the Horns will face 3 teams that finished in the Top 10, 8 teams that finished in the Top 25, and 17 teams that finished in the Top 100 of the final 2025 RPI.

Texas baseball fans can expect intense matchups and key rivalries throughout the season. The Longhorns SEC matchups will be crucial for their NCAA baseball tournament hopes and their pursuit of another trip to Omaha.

Quote from Coach Jim Schlossnagle – “Texas Baseball is built on competing against the best. From the SEC to our non-conference slate, we’ll face programs that bring out the best in us. This schedule is designed to help our team grow, develop and be at its strongest when the post season arrives.”

Non-Conference Opponents

Texas Baseball will open up the season with a three-game home series against the Aggies of UC Davis. This will be the first ever meeting between the Longhorns and UC Davis. The Horns also have home non-conference weekends against the Spartans of Michigan State and the Spartans of USC Upstate. Both matchups with the Spartans mark the first time in program history that the Longhorns have faced these teams. The lone non-conference weekend has the Longhorns traveling to Houston to take part in the Houston Astros Foundation Classic where they will face the trio of Coastal Carolina, Baylor, and Ohio State.

The mid-week games feature a strong Texas flavor as they typically do, with the lone exception of fan favorite Air Force returning to Austin for a game in late April. The Longhorns will only be on the road twice during the mid-week, as they will head to San Marcos to take on Texas State Bobcats and down to Houston to take on the Cougars.

Overall, the non-conference slate is one in which you would expect Texas to play though there are some intriguing matchups. Lamar has been very successful over the last few years, including back-to-back 40-win seasons and having brought in the #23 ranked transfer portal class, as well as notably beating Texas in a 12-inning scrimmage on October 3rd. Coastal Carolina finished with the #2 RPI and for good reason, as they won 56 games and finished national runner up to LSU. Baylor will be an intriguing matchup as well.  Not considered an elite team, Baylor has continued to increase their talent and Coach Thompson showed more progress in 2025 as he continues to build back that program. Lastly, UTSA will be back at the Disch after winning 47 games in 2025, including going 3-0 against the Horns, two of which were during the Austin Regionals, resulting in the Roadrunners eliminating the Horns from the NCAA Tournament.
