The GM Report – Is Brock Williams worth the cash?

Brock-Williams-Texas

The General Manager Report – Brock Williams, TE (2027)

Brock Williams Rankings

Orangebloods: Platinum (500k-800K), Cody’s National TE (7)
Rivals Industry: National (69), TE (4), Illinois (4)

The Film Review of Brock Williams

– Player Comparison: Trey Burton, Florida (2010-13)
– Film Review: “Doesn’t present as 6’5 on film, more of a tall 6’2 or 6’3. Good short area acceleration and RAC (Run after Catch). Doesn’t do anything really ELITE, but does everything good! Aggresieve Run Blocker that can put the linebacker on his back. Very sick contortion-ability at the catch point.”

The Coach’s Traits
– Jeff Banks has long been regarded as an elite recruiter by the masses, but it hasn’t always come at the TE position; in fact, according to 247’s All Time Commits that Jeff Banks recruited list, he’s never gained a commitment from a five-star Tight End and just one consensus Top 200 Tight End (Nick Townsend). Most of Banks’ recruiting chops come from assisting in the Colin Simmons, Anthony Hill Jr., Johntay Cook, Kelvin Banks, and Manny Muhammed recruitments.

Brock Williams vs. Other 12 Jeff Banks TE Commitments
– Williams stands out as the only true size outlier, longer than the group’s average but nearly 30 lbs lighter than the prototype cluster (230–245), yet still ranked #1 overall, which breaks the dataset’s typical size-to-ranking trend. Compared to similarly built players like (Jahleel) Billingsley and (Jordna) Washington, Williams is both higher ranked and more extreme physically, reinforcing that his evaluation is being driven by the borderline elite receiving traits rather than the build. In a group anchored by new-age traditional frames like Nick Townsend, Williams represents a separate archetype entirely.

The Competition
– Texas: Nick Townsend (2025 TE5)
– Georgia: Elyiss Williams (2025 TE1), Kaiden Prothro (2026 TE2)
– Ohio State: Nate Roberts (2025 TE14), Brody Lennon (2025 TE16)

Top Visits
– Texas: 2 – 11/22/25 (Arkansas) and 1/24/26 (UV)
– Georgia: 4 – 4/12/25 (G-Day), 5/31/25 (UV), 10/18/25 (Ole Miss), 1/30/26 (UV)
– Ohio State: 4 – 3/17/25 (Spring), 6/7/25 (UV), 8/30/25 (Texas), 11/15/25 (UCLA)

Other Notes on Brock Williams

– Williams’ twin brother Reid Williams, is a Safety at Libertyville with hopes of walking on to play football, potentially at the same school as Brock. Reid is a 6-1 195-pound Safety, who draws passion, intensity, and leadership traits from his favorite Safety, Sean Taylor (Miami, FL/Washington) – he currently has a Kentucky Offer.

The Recruiting Matrix
– Brock Williams currently sits in the Platinum ($500k-$800k) category of cost, and while I don’t see him as a prospect with the ability to get to campus and contribute at a high level on day 1, Texas is getting near the finish line in his recruitment, and they view him as one of the better prospects in the class. Whereas I see current Texas Tight End Commitment JT Geraci as the No. 9-ranked TE in the 2027 class, as an underrated prospect. He is viewed as a Bronze (< $100k) player that I view as a Top 250 player. Williams, on the other hand, is being viewed as a Top 50 player, but I see him more in the Geraci bucket, with almost the same grade. Bottom line, Geraci is an incredible value, today, and Brock Williams would be a bit of an overpay at the current projections.

Key Quotes from Brock Williams

January 20th, 2026 (Before Texas and Georgia Visits)
– “I definitely want to commit before official visits,” Williams told Rivals
– “I thought I would have a good idea where I wanted to go after visits during the season, but that made it more confusing. I’m thinking mid to late March now. I’ll use the dead month in February to talk it over with everyone, then make my decision.”

February 4th, 2026 (Post Texas and Georgia Visits)
– “Personally, I don’t want to wait for all the OVs. If I already know where I’m going to go, I think it’s disrespectful to go to these schools, put on their uniform and pretend to like them,” Williams said. “I feel like that’s just doing it for clout.”

The Final Report on Brock Williams

– Williams is expected to make a decision in the next few weeks to a month after pushing back is commitment date from December to January and January to TBD. Texas, Ohio State, and Georgia are the focal point and final three. Orangebloods believes Texas leads the competition in Compensation Package for the Libertyville star and expects the decision to come down to Georgia vs. Texas. The relationships and alignment all points to Georgia in this recruitment; however, Williams has pushed back his commitment multiple times (from Fall to December, December to January, and January to Pre-OVs). With Texas entering the fray in November, and gaining another visit in January, all signs point to that being a direct correlator to combating Georgia’s relationship based recruitment.

Prediction: Georgia (for around $150k less)
