*3rd and 16 with 7:00 left in the 1st Quarter… Trey Moore and Colin Simmons at EDGE, Brad Spence in a 4i Rush Stance, and Hero Kanu at 1-Tech. Linebackers were TyAnthony Smith and Anthony Hill, but neither blitzed… Texas got home with those 4, causing a checkdown and forcing 4th down after Simmons “swam” over Freshman Michael Fasusi.

*Positive on Defense… Colin Simmons, Anthony Hill, and Michael Taafe came to play today!! This is BIG imo for a Longhorns win
*Mateer saw the blitz coming from Ty’Anthony and the Back picked him up, but Anthony Hill was the 6th rusher to the Sooners’ 6 blockers, and he was untouched, forcing Mateer to push the ball with a poor follow-through and a jump.. it might not seem big, but that throw made me think about his hand and him thinking about getting it hit on Hill who was approaching for a sack.
*These play calls are so freaking mild… It’s like the Texas play caller doesn’t quite see what the strengths of some of his players is, I don’t get it

*The Offensive Line came out of the half with a great push in the run game – keep the Big M.O.
*R Mason Thomas gets home for Sack #1 – Arch had Livingstone open on the mid-field logo… TRUST IT
*Credit the offense with keeping it moving after that sack, getting a big first down, and chunking this Sooners defense

*DJ Campbell tweaks his ankle around the 10:00 mark – stayed in and kept it pushin’

Yes, OU’s defense is good, maybe even one of the best this year (Top 12ish) but it’s not ELITE like Ohio State. Jackson Arnold beat himself, early and often against OU and he welcomed those sacks rather than trusting his reads, using his pocket and relaxing through progressions and delivering to open receivers.
I like Arch and the Offense to get into the end zone.
