The latest with Texas OL commitment Max Wright

Max Wright has been committed to Texas for some time, but another in-state school is making a late push. We have the very latest on where things stand with the Melissa product.

Texas is having to work to hold on to offensive tackle commitment Max Wright.
Texas offensive tackle commitment Max Wright

Texas offensive tackle commitment Max Wright took an unofficial visit to SMU last weekend to watch the Ponies defeat Miami.

He was scheduled to be in Austin in a couple of weeks when the Longhorns host Arkansas, but there’s been a change of plans. Instead, he’ll take an official visit to SMU that weekend. He’ll then turn around the following week and head to Austin when Texas plays Texas A&M.

SMU has been hanging around for a while but it is really making a strong push over the past couple of weeks. This one’s very close right now but I do think Texas can hold onto him if the staff pushes the right buttons over the next few weeks.

More big recruiting updates in this week’s 3-2-1.
