Liona Lefau To Enter the Portal

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian appears to love his 2026 Longhorns.

The Texas Longhorns lost a member of the starting defense on Monday when linebacker Liona Lefau announced he was departing the prorgam.

Lefau was one of the senior members of the Texas defense after recording 69 tackles, 3 tackles form loss, 1 sack and one fumble recovery this season.

With Lefau’s departure, the Longhorns are down to 83 scholarship players entering the 2025 off-season and the number could dip below 75-80 in the coming weeks. Expect the Longhorns to look to the Transfer Portal for more aid at the position.
