The Texas Longhorns have added a new name to the roster as graduate transfer Dariyan Pendergrass, formerly of College of Charleston joins the team for the 2026 season. Pendergrass spent the last two seasons at College of Charleston after two years of a junior college, having originally signed with South Carolina out of high school, but eventually leaving due to injury.
During the 2025 season, Dariyan started all 59 games in CF, ending up with a .296 average, .828 OPS, 4 HR, 37 RBI, 35 BB, 25 K, and an outstanding 43 stolen bases. Dariyan’s 43 stolen bases was tied 8th nationally. Pendergrass also led the College of Charleston in hits (65), at-bats (223), and sac bunts (6). During the 2025 season, Dariyan also faced three future opponents of Texas for the 2026 season (Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, and USC Upstate).
As a graduate transfer, Dariyan adds much needed depth and competition to the Texas outfield and will certainly play a role as a pinch runner.
