Texas baseball is back!
The Horns kick off their 2026 slate with a three-game homestand against UC Davis.
UT comes into this season as the number three ranked team in the country and one of the betting favorites to win this year’s College World Series.
Texas has one of the best pitching staffs in the country. They have some elite hitters should be elite in the field as well. If their hitting depth holds up (fingers crossed for no major injuries) then there is no reason that the Horns shouldn’t be back in Omaha – where they belong.
If Texas makes it back to Omaha, their chances of winning their seventh College World Series are very good.
College baseball is an offensive game with many of these parks being very hitter friendly. But Omaha is where the tables are turned. Charles Schwab Field in Omaha may not be quite as pitcher friendly as the old Rosenblatt Stadium, but it is still a place where many fly balls go to die.
The Texas baseball team isn’t a lock, by any stretch of the imagination, to win it all. But it is definitely a possibility.
Still, if it isn’t the baseball team, then which program at UT will be the next to win it all?
